Medical management of chronic diseases reduces premature death

By : on : 16th May 2016 comments : (0)

Reduction in chronic disease (e.g. cardiac, cancer, diabetes, stroke, and arthritis) has been shown to save up to $57 billion over the next 15 years. 86c of every dollar spent on US healthcare is consumed by undiagnosed/unmanaged/poorly managed chronic disease (Candace DeMatteis –  view more).

More than 190 million Americans (+/- 59 % of US population are affected by one or more chronic diseases. According to DeMatteis, without change, the number of people with three or more chronic diseases is expected to increase to 83 million by 2030, and overall costs will accumulate to more than $42 trillion.
