The third wave of COVID-19 has been the most devastating wave to hit South Africa, particularly Gauteng thus far. Gauteng has reached its peak and the numbers of new cases are decrease as per the first graph below. The COVID-19 deaths in Gauteng are still increasing at an alarming rate as per the second graph below.
The below graph shows a 7-day rolling average of cases per 100 thousand population per day, per province.
