South Africa’s Pharmacist-Initiated Management of ART (PIMART) will potentially pave the way for other countries in helping the under reached and under-served groups and communities in gaining access to their HIV medicines, as PIMART seeks to improve these links to HIV treatment and prevention therapy among these communities and the way they obtain their medication.
It has been reported that South African Pharmacies may no longer require a script from a patient’s doctor or nurse in order to dispense their medication.
