In USA adults 18 years and older, the prevalence of Arthritis increased amongst both woman and men. These are including rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, and fibromyalgia.

The survey is based on a questionnaire wit the question of “Have you ever been told by a doctor or other health professional that you had some form of arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, lupus, or fibromyalgia?”
Men aged 18-44 years – 5.8%
Woman aged 18-44 years – 6.6%
Men aged 45-64 years – 22.3%
Woman aged 45-64 years – 29.3%
Men aged 65-74 years – 40.1%
Woman aged 65-74 years – 48.6%
Men aged 75 years and older – 44.7%
Woman aged 75 years and older – 57.8%
The statistical difference between men and woman with woman being more likely to have arthritis, except for in the age group of 18-44 years where this is insignificant.
