A 7 day average is used to view the current rate of increases in South Africa, comparing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd waves.
The trajectory of the 3rd wave appears to mimic that of the first wave at this point.
The vaccine rollout at this point, on its own, is thought not to be sufficient to flatten the curve much. There needs to be a greater awareness of the need to comply with containment measures.
