From the last report, the numbers have changed drastically as South Africa is now fully into its third wave.

• All provinces except for the Free State increased in hospitalisations in the last 14 days.
• 2000 new hospital admissions for Gauteng as it maintains its rapid rise in cases.
• The upward trend in deaths continue in most provinces, with some having minor decreases.
• The 3^rd wave’s peak has rapidly become higher than the 1^st and 2^nd wave with the new variant being the most dangerous and possibly deadly. This peak continues to climb.

Increases in new cases week on week per province:

• Gauteng +57%
• Western Cape +51%
• Eastern Cape +80%
• Kwa-Zulu Natal +42%
• Limpopo Province +79%
• Mpumalanga +64%
• North West Province +42%
